So, I thought I would send one his way...
I have been completely busy for the last few months, but I do have some posts in the queue:
As always, your feedback is welcome.

I found a post of mine on a different website. They obviously are reading my RSS feed, but it doesn't look like it:

I DID NOT SUBMIT THIS!!!! And what pisses me off is that they have Google Ads on that page.
If you know who runs this site -- have them stop. (Or they can pay me.)

dasBlog, the software used to run this blog, has been updated to v1.7. I have upgraded my site, so please let me know if you see anything amiss. This new version includes a Captcha control for comments, which helps to block bots from posting comment spam. I hope that this is not too much trouble for you. Also, my customized theme was not working so well, so I went back to the default until I can figure out what's up.
Thanks for your patience.

Mr. Vasters is the author of the dasBlog blogging engine that powers this site. If you use dasBlog, provide your feedback here.

A while ago, I upgraded my dasBlog installation to version 1.6. I finally got around to looking at the new features, and found the drawArchiveMonths macro. This is now included, on the left below the categories.
Interestingly, it was one year ago when I vanished from the blogosphere (I don't like that word!). I'm determined to prevent that from happening again!

I wrote blogging offline a while back. This will not be necessary, since dasBlog has the wonderful “mail-to-blog” feature. I send an email to a specific address and the text of the message is the content of a blog entry. Outlook already supports offline mode, so I'm all set.
This is a test of the mail-to-weblog feature of dasBlog

Over the last few months, I have had difficulty with running FrontPage websites on the same shared host as ASP.Net websites. I don't understand completely, other that sometimes the .Net sites issue a generic “Error occurred” message.
Today was the last straw. Two different sites were unavailable, for no apparent reason. No explanation from the vendor. I am moving to SecureWebs. They host the blog of Scott Watermasysk, the creator of the .Text blog engine.
I have received top-notch help from Scott (a different Scott) at SecureWebs. I am excited about the move, which will be complete before the end of the month.

Thanks to a tip from Torsten, I've setup w.bloggar to support titles and categories. Thanks!
I have one little bit to add -- after changing the settings, re-login to your blog (press F9). If all is working, then you should get a Title text box and Category drop-down in the w.bloggar UI.
BTW - are you the Torsten from the BlogWorks XML forums?
I'm not sure the w.bloggar (or any other) pc-based blog program is going to work. w.bloggar tries to talk to the server upon launch. If that happens to be while I'm disconnected, I have to wait for the network error. In true developer fashion, I'll probably try to create my own tool. I have dasBlog loaded on the laptop, so I'm thinking that I post to the local machine. My tool will reconcile the entries on the laptop with those on the server.
UPDATE: Microsoft just release the Offline Application Block, which is exactly what I need. But, I don't know if I have the time for a full-featured winform application.
The blog engine I am using is dasBlog from newtelligence. It is written in .Net and stores the data in the file system. It is a great learing tool for ASP.Net and object oriented development. Very highly recommended.
