I think that you are off chronalogically in your para on STS and SPS 2001.

If you check I think you'll find that SPS 2001 was released well in advance of STS.

This is not to say that what later became a product called STS was not being used internally in Microsoft before SPS 2001 was released (I don't have any dates on that so that may be true) but it is to say that the released product SPS 2001 was released before the released product STS.

Mike,

Thanks for the information. (I didn't find much historical information on the Microsoft web site.) I am honored that an MVP would take the time to read and comment.

I hope that you will keep following the series. And I welcome any other feedback or story ideas from you.

Paul,

It is good to see your writing a new series about SharePoint. I would really like to see more about "real world" implementation issues and how they are resolved discussed. As SharePoint becomes more widely adopted, we will find the need for more non-technical user training and information materials.

Keep up the great work Paul. Hope to talk with you soon.

Thanks for the comment Bob. For the next installment, I'm planning on documenting a few sites that I've installed that were plan intranet sites. Nothing fancy, just using the built-in parts. Then, I'll expand to more complicated scenarios.
